All because two people fell in love.

The nature of families causes me great wonderment. The love two people share can create generations and generations of families and life and love. I am glad that both of David's grandparents on his mother's side are still living and are able to live at home and care for themselves. I'm thankful my children will have memories of them and their home. We stop by every visit home, and I really enjoy our visits there. Sara Katherine carries their Yorkie around like a baby (and she tolerates that very well), Grandad usually reads to one or all of the kids, and Grandad is also the one that taught Ethan to play chess. (I'm almost 32 and I don't know how to play chess!) Nana tries to feed us "toasted cheese" sandwiches every.time we visit, and we always sing our blessings on the food in her home while we hold hands. Those are all things that will create good, happy memories for my kids, and for me as well. Grandad always kisses me on the cheek, and it brings back memories of my own grandfather doing the same thing. They are just really special visits, and I'm thankful we have had them. I hope we have many more.

On our way back from Alabama last week, we were able to visit Nana and Grandad's. It was a pretty monumental occasion because for the first time in a year, all the Rick and Kim Ennis kids, spouses, and grandkids were together in the same place. I actually had my act together and had everyone's Christmas done, so we were able to watch everyone open their gifts, which is a lot of fun for me.

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
