The Halloween Marathon

It's a good thing I love Halloween, because it lasts forever in our house. Between the church trunk or treat, school Halloween parties and friend Halloween parties, the actual trick-or-treating on Halloween day is kind of like, eh. At least for me anyway. My kids have dressed up at least three or four times by the time it gets to that point, but they still are super excited on Halloween night so I guess that is all that is important.

Ethan's coustume was easy this year. He wanted to be Mario. I really wanted him to be something else (anything else), but I also want my kids to be what they want to be. There's not a whole lot of decisions they make completely on their own at this stage of life, but deciding on a Halloween costume can be one of them. So Mario he was. My mom got the other two Halloween costumes for Elyse and Sara Katherine at a consignment sale for like, $6 total. Just a little talking up Pochoantas got Sara Katherine all excited and thankfully she didn't already have something else in mind so she was easily swayed. Elyse wasn't so sure about the cat costume at first, but warmed up after the 2nd or 3rd time she wore it!

Now I'm gearing up for Thanksgiving. Most of David's family will be with us, and it's the first Thanksgiving I've ever hosted at my house. I'm excited! Fall Festival at the Base in one of the Plane Hangars. It was a lot of fun!
